The Enterprise Project Management Maturity Assessment™
To rapidly move to a culture of disciplined and consistent planning and execution excellence, it is important to understand the current state of project management within your organization. Just as it is a good idea for an individual to get a physical prior to training for their first marathon, it is highly recommended that a "physical" of the project management maturity of an organization be conducted to establish a baseline from which to begin moving to the next level of project, program and portfolio excellence.
PMLG created the Enterprise Project Management Maturity Assessment (EPMMA) over 15 years ago to help organizations understand their current state and take immediate action to rapidly mature. This comprehensive assessment
has been conducted across dozens of Fortune 100 corporations and government organizations. Our process consists of interviews of key personnel, an EPMMA survey, a project management tool and process gap analysis and onsite observations. At the completion of the assessment, we provide a comprehensive maturity evaluation for the entire organization, for each of the 9 PMBOK knowledge areas and for any PMO and EPMO's that may be in place. This comprehensive report includes actiionable recommendations that can be implemented immediately. We also include recommendations that can be applied to improve processes and process templates. In many cases, we will provide templates and porcesses that will help help the organization rapidly move to the next level of planning and execution excellence.
The EPMMA Approach:
1. We will address where
you are in your project management methodology
and practices. This includes a documented
current state assessment including methodology
gaps and weaknesses. The assessment is
portrayed using a set of "spider
diagrams" to illustrate areas of
strength and weakness.

2. We will develop a
step-by-step solution which will outline
what you need to improve upon and a plan
on how to implement this solution.
3. We will present this
information during the current assessment
follow-up meeting and work with your organization
to make decisions on the best course of
action. As a result, you
will see immediate and positive results.
