Simulation Examination™
Course Description: Certification
is awarded to program participants only
after they complete an intensive, one-day
simulation. Simulation begins with an exam
that focuses on the practical application
of project management "why, how and
when" the processes and tools are employed.
This hands-on case study exposes students
to various challenging project scenarios
that they must address. The workshop was
designed to introduce many of the most common
project problems and risks. By applying
appropriate processes and techniques, students
will be able to prevent and\or eliminate
project problems as they occur during the
simulation. All major project management
knowledge areas will be covered during this
simulation. Students will be evaluated by
instructor\coaches. These instructor\coaches
will represent team members, clients and
project sponsors.
Some of the areas this simulation will
cover include:
• Team building
• Rolling out project management
processes
• Developing the project charter
• Conducting planning workshops
• Negotiating for resources and
time
• Conflict resolution
• Client management
• Requirements development and control
• Risk assessment and management
• Developing project schedule (using
PM tool of students choice)
• Re-planning the project
• Closing the project
This simulation covers
all 9 Project Management Knowledge areas
from PMI's Project Management Body of Knowledge
(PMBOK) and is a required course for the
PMLG Certified Project Manager Program (CPM).
It also provides excellent preparation for
taking the Project Management Professional
(PMP ®) examination.
