Course Description: The
strategic plan becomes nothing more than
another document if it is not executed successfully.
Strategic vision is delivered at the project
level and ultimate success is determined
by the effectiveness of the initial project
planning. This exciting and informative
one-day workshop will provide your leaders
with the skills to rapidly and accurately
plan strategic projects and programs of
any size and complexity. Using the Work
Breakdown Structure (WBS) technique (the
foundation for all successful planning)
students will learn how to rapidly and accurately
identify and size all of the deliverables
required to be produced for the solution
to be a success. In an interactive workshop
format and while working on their own projects,
students will gain the skills to:
• Rapidly translate strategic initiatives
into accurately scoped project plans
• Successfully facilitate project
planning workshops for teams of all sizes
• Assign responsibility for deliverable
delivery and ensure successful
execution
• Conduct accurate bottom-up estimating
of hours and costs
• Rapidly translate deliverables
into accurate project schedules
This course includes several excellent
exercises that will help mature each student’s
leadership and facilitation skills as well
as reinforce the techniques being taught.
